We are Island Bath Works, a company dedicated to making independent senior living a reality in Hawaii.
Started in 2011, we began as a bathtub restoration and repair operation showcasing our refinishing abilities and latest product offerings at the Neil Blasdell Center Home improvement trade shows. We quickly gained a reputation for quality work and reliability and built a large customer base through word of mouth referrals.
Our clients frequently requested a full shower renovation to accommodate their aging parents’ trouble getting in and out of the tub. At the time, the only option was a full demo, and rebuild, which would cost over $10,000, and weeks to complete. With most people not being able to afford such a big job, we searched for a solution to service Hawaii’s growing senior community.
We became factory certified tub conversion specialists, and utilize a patented system that was developed, and in use since 1992. Over the years, we have helped over 1000 of Hawaii’s seniors with their bathroom accessibility needs, and have continually improved the conversion process to perfection. It is truly gratifying to see appreciation and amazement from our customers, and to know that what we do improves their quality of life.
Island Bath Works was founded by Eric Thompson, a Honolulu born, Kalani High School and University of Hawaii graduate. When not in the tub, he likes being outdoors.
